‘Who’d like to wear their PJs to work on Monday?’
It was a resounding yes from the team at Vapouround, who are experts at turning Mondays into fundays.
We found the Pyjamas for PanCan campaign online and it was set in stone – pyjama day was a go.
With limitless boomerang potential, we truly did have a Peter Pan style Monday morning putting the fun in fundraising, plus it made getting ready for work that bit easier too.
But behind the fun and games lies an important cause: Pancreatic Cancer Action. Staff at Vapouround emptied their pockets for the cause and have been encouraging social media followers to donate what they can too.
Today we're raising money for @OfficialPCA as part of their "Pyjamas for PanCan" initiative. Pancreatic Cancer Action do fantastic work to improve early detection of pancreatic cancer, find out more about how you can help at https://t.co/GgL8R3lipk #PJsforPanCan pic.twitter.com/xpnKGvjshe

Almost 10,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year in the UK. There are around 338,000 new cases each year around the world and 104,000 of those are found in Europe. Pancreatic cancer affects men and women equally with incidence increasing from the age of 45 while the average age of diagnosis is 72.
Like many life-changing diseases, what causes pancreatic cancer is not known. There are some risk factors which Pancreatic Cancer Action say can make developing the cancer more likely. These include cigarette smoking, age, diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis — long-term inflammation of the pancreas.
