Wednesday March 14 is National No Smoking Day 2018.
The public health awareness day has taken place every year since the early eighties with one aim — to help smokers who want to quit smoking.
This year’s national awareness day is a little bit different as we now know that most people in Britain agree that vaping is less likely to cause harm than smoking tobacco products, meaning more and more smokers who want to quit may be edging towards e-cigarettes.
According to the well-documented YouGov survey commissioned by leading online vaping retailer Electric Tobacconist earlier this year, just 5% of British adults think vaping is more harmful than smoking.
This new belief in vaping is good news following the latest Public Health England evidence which shows that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco products.
This No Smoking Day the theme is ‘Quit Your Way’ and the NHS is again emphasising its ‘Only One You’ message. There’s also a social media campaign with the hashtag #TellUsYourWay.
Whether you quit cold turkey, avail of nicotine replacement therapy or start vaping there is ample support out there to not only quit smoking, but to maintain your new, less harmful to your health habit.
